Welsh folk legend Jenny Jones brass pendant / lucky charm
Jenny is seen here in her full Welsh costume carrying a basket with her name underneath.

- Made from solid brass
- Measures approximately 4.5cm tall and 2.5 cm wide (1.75" x 0.75")
Condition: very good - I have not cleaned the brass as think the natural patina adds to it's charm
Who Is Jenny Jones?
Jenny was the subject of a popular ballad "Sweet Jenny Jones" from the 1830s to 1860s, which romanticized the story of a Welsh dairymaid and her sailor fiancé. The ballad, which made her an icon of Wales, was written by Charles James Mathews and popularized the idea that she eventually married her sweetheart, Edward Morgan. While the original Jenny Jones may have been from near Mold, the ballad specifically associated her with the town of Llangollen.
