A vintage cream-coloured molded plastic / celluloid brooch featuring a detailed Welsh Dragon in relief within a decorative framed border. Ready to pin with pride again!

During the 1920s through the 1940s, molded plastic jewellery made of Celluloid or Ivorine (often marketed as "French Ivory" or "Celluloid Ivory") was immensely popular in Britain. It was specifically designed to imitate carved elephant ivory at an affordable price point. The cream colour, openwork lattice frame, and carved-relief texture of the dragon are classic indicators of 1930s–1940s faux-ivory celluloid pieces.
