Antique Mug - Welsh Commemorative Marriage - 1884 (Preloved)

A fascinating Victorian commemorative mug made to celebrate a high-society marriage in North Wales.

Inscribed Event: Commemorates the marriage of Herbert Watkin Williams-Wynn to his cousin Louise Alexandra Williams-Wynn on August 26, 1884. Louise was the daughter and sole heiress of Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn, 6th Baronet of the prominent Wynnstay estate in Denbighshire. Herbert later succeeded as the 7th Baronet.

Also features three family heraldic crests with Welsh mottoes:

Condition: Good

Hairline crack visible on the inside. Shows pronounced all-over fine crazing and light age-related discolouration typical for late 19th-century creamware/earthenware.
