Carmarthenshire has long been associated with potion making! According to Welsh folklore, The Physicians of Myddfai were a group of herbalists who lived in the parish of Myddfai. They can be traced back to the 13th century, when Rhiwallon and his three sons were doctors to Lord Rhys, the Prince of Deheubarth. However, their potions and practises may be even older and was probably an accumulation of knowledge from hundreds of years of herbal usage by the tribes and villages of South Wales.
