In 1940 in France, Jean Paul, and his little sister Anne Marie, try to escape from the grip of the Germans. At a moment of crisis Jules Darlang comes to support her but only Jean Paul can take the microfilm to the Café Rouge in Tourlette - and the critical message, 'Mae Torch yn Llosgi'

J. Selwyn Lloyd was born in Tal-y-sarn, Dyffryn Nantlle, the son of a quarryman. He was educated at Penygroes Grammar School and Coleg Normal, Bangor and was in the Air Force for two years before becoming a teacher in London. He published ten novels and several hundred stories for magazines and has won the National Eisteddfod many times.
