A sweet little perserve / mustard pot featuring a Welsh Lady and spinning wheel with 'Bargoed' painted above her

The pot is designed as a table condiment container (most likely a mustard or chutney pot) and includes a fitted lid with a spoon notch, a removable plastic interior cup/liner, and a small plastic spoon - a rare complete set!

  • The front is hand-inscribed with "Bargoed" (a town in the Rhymney Valley, South Wales) and "Cymru" (the Welsh name for Wales)
  • Maker's mark on opposite side to Welsh Lady - Manor Ware pottery
  • Hand painted in jolly colours - The buttery yellow, browns and blues is very typical of interwar to post-war British tourist pottery.
  • Vintage (c. 1960s – 1970s mid-century tourist souvenir)
  • Made from moulded earthenware
  • Approximate measurements: 7.5 cms tall including lid, 8 cms widest point including spout and handle

Condition: very good

Includes original lid, plastic spoon, and internal plastic liner. No chips or cracks though paint has come away very slightly in places
