A sweet little jug featuring a Welsh Lady sitting down and 'Church Stretton' painted above her
It is interesting as this town in actually in England, though very close to the Welsh border. Perhaps they were trying to be adopted by Wales!
- This would have been a souvenir from the Shropshire town of Church Stretton
- Maker's mark on opposite side to Welsh Lady - Manor Ware pottery
- Hand painted in jolly colours - The buttery yellow, browns and blues is very typical of interwar to post-war British tourist pottery.
- Mid-20th century
- Made from ceramic
- Approximate measurements: 6cm tall, 6.5cm widest point including handle
Condition: very good
Some age related fading to paint (particularly on handle) but no chips or cracks, base a little scuffed
