A beautiful and rare 'Welsh Costumes' souvenir mug.

There are many different depictions of Welsh Costumes and rural life in Wales to be collected. The arrival of the railways in the late 19th Century led to the production of souvenir prints, China and postcards.

Your chance to own and cherish a piece of Welsh rural history.

  • The cup displays Welsh ladies in traditional costumes with a different image on each side with a rich burgundy background
  • One side is titled "Market Day Wales" and then a couple of a horse with "A Bidding in Wales"
  • Victorian - Mid to late 19th century 
  • Transfer printed and hand painted
  • No maker's marks
  • Approximate measurements taken at widest points: height: 3" / 7.8 cm, width of mouth: 3.2" / 8 cm, width including handle: 4.25", 11cm

Very good condition for age. Age related marks and ware to gold gilding text and rim. Please view all the pictures carefully.
