A sweet scene of three Welsh Ladies enjoying a tea party and a 'clebran'. 

Says 'The Welsh Tea Party' and 'Made in Germany" underneath 

  • A great example of Victorian fairing! Circa 1891–1914 (Late Victorian to Edwardian era)
  • Hand painted in bright but simple overglaze enamel colours (striped skirts, pink cheeks, blue/green detailing) with clear gold italic script
  • Flat–back style figurine, meant to be displayed on a mantelpiece (no painting or detail to back)
  • Naïve, charming modelling of faces and hands, which is very characteristic of Staffordshire style
  • Made from ceramic
  • Approximate measurements: 9cm tall, 9cm widest point, 4cm depth

Condition: very good

No obvious faults - a little scuffed at the base. Their hats are intact (often chipped) and the script is beautifully clear. I'm not sure if the lady in the middle has a chipped hand or it was how it came out of the mould - others look similar to this.
