An antique leek brooch for you to pin with pride! Perfect for St. David's Day.
The early 1920s were a formative era for Welsh bowls: the sport’s formal national competitions were only a few years old (since 1919), and the post-war surge in working-class recreational provision (miners’ welfare, local authorities) created many new clubs and players.
- Brass with green enamel detailing on the leaves and white on the stem. It has a blue scroll with "WBA 1922" which stands for "Welsh Bowling Association"
- Secures with an old style pin
- Made in Wales - back is signed Maton, Cardiff - who was a well renound jeweller, silversmith, watchmaker and optician based at 6, Park Hall Buildings and 99, Queen Street in Cardiff in the early 20th century
