What is Risograph Printing?
Created in Japan in the 1980s, a Risograph is a digital or printer duplicator created to produce high volumes of good quality prints. The limited colour printing system allows for up to 4 colours, including neon and metallic. Each colour is printed individually on large rollers with each pass through the machine creating a layered effect.
Risograph printing is very environmentally friendly; it uses soy-based, non-toxic inks, is low energy and also creates minimal waste.
A Little About the Maker...
Charlotte Hepburn creates her cheerful and colourful prints from in the rural border town of Presteigne, Powys. She always likes to add a touch of humour to her designs - look closely and you might spot something funny! For as long as she can remember she has always loved drawing - not a day has gone by when she has not had a pen or brush in her hand. She is inspired by the stunning world around her and mid-century design.
