Gaudy Welsh was primarily made to be displayed on Welsh dressers with bold hand-painted floral designs often inspired by Japanese Imari. It was produced between 1820 and the 1890s.

  • Scalloped rim, ornate handle and a robust, earthenware body
  • No maker's marks
  • Approximate measurements: 10 cm widest points, 5 cm tall, diameter 8 cm

Condition: Very Good

Very good condition for age. Has crazing and hairline cracks in varnish. Some of the paint has rubbed off scalloped edge. Inner rim has some discolouration. Base is scuffed.  Please view all the pictures carefully. Missing saucer, but pretty enough to stand alone
